jamaica miss, ted is a genuinely nice!! the few times i've been in his company, i found him kind and curtious . . .
i love the way he handles the market . . . his little area is the first upon the entrance from the beach. he sits and does not talk a lot. rather, he just extends his arm towards his stuff and raises his eyebrows. real cute and effective. a keeper!!!Comment

IMO, after so much "hard sell" in Jamaica, this kind of approach would attract me to a shop. I do not like anyone "hovering" over me or giving me info. I don't need, when I shop....turns me off! That's just me, but then again, I'm a professional shopper with nowhere to shop inna Yaad! If I have no elbow room when I'm shopping, mi gone!Comment

Yes I've watched him down at the market and he doesn't hard sell. There is one woman who has a booth close to his that almost pulls them away from his booth with her hard sell. He said that no matter how often they go to meetings that stress the backing off from irritating the tourists, they continue to do this. When I take people to the market, I tell them to ignore the hardsellers and keep walking. After they look at Ted's and sometimes don't see anything they want, we take them to his friends that don't do the hard sell and they have found nice things. He has some very good friends down there and they stick together, and help each other.Comment

the lawnscape guy (not the free one)is coming on monday
i can't wait to hear his suggestions and see how much mulch and dirt are going to cost me
i just have to remind myself that i will have a return on my investment by the end of the summer - no watering, no mowing, no fertilizing

when i was in the market - one of the ladies "encouraged" me to come into her booth
as soon as i entered it got dark - she was blocking the doorway
i was outta there in a wink - been there done that
some of the "agressive" vendors don't even give you a chance to think . . . i guess that's the point but i don't want to buy something just because you hand it to me

Morning all ....
I am ramping up for a nice napping weekend!! it has been too nice to laze about the past couple weekends ~ but we are to have some rain both days.
I am more tan from sitting on my deck in April than when I returned from my JaJa trip ~
I am so tempted to set out my 'wintered' plants ... but - I have done that before and lost ... so I am making myself hang tight.
I should photo and post my orchids ... (yes plural ~ orchid S) ... once I got started ~ I busted loose - I have 6 or 7 orchid plants now. I have salvaged a few from the clearance section at Home Depot ... and paid full price for some as well ... so far - so good!!!

I have not been down to the Market very often ...
I usually just buy things from Lilly ... she has had various items around the WB - or brought selections to me ..
we did take my sister and niece when they were in Negril ... but - we went directly to her stall ~ just passed others by.Comment

One of my favorite songs. Always remind me of my first trip to Jamaica. The band at Bourban Beach (THE DEBUSS) covered this song quite a bit.
